from what I read the census for 2006 stated there are 160 left in the kruger park...which makes them rarer then wild dogs :D

we, too saw that herd near mopani a few days ago...also had a single sighting in 2005...

one tour guide claimed they were the fastest anteloppes there are...is that true?

Yes it is true.

A friend of mine saw a single one at Pretoriuskop yesterday. Seems they are persisting there!

Had 2 sightings on the 29th of April 2007, an hour or so apart - a herd of about 10 was running away from the road close to Tihongonyeni on the Capricorn Loop S143, and a smaller group had just finished drinking from Dzombo West on the S144 Old Main Road when we arrived there... Unfortunately neither group hanged around for long enough to get decent pics.

Saw tsessebe at this waterhole on June 6th, 7th and 8th. Sometimes more than 20 in total when different groups arrived at the same time. A group of 7 tsessebe arrived with a wildebeest and they also left together.

There seem to be more and more tsessebe sightings. I wonder if that means their numbers are growing?

Saw this one at Klopperfontein Fountain end September.

It was apparently on its way to join the rest of the herd of about 10! :)

Interesting that they are found in so many localities!

Agree with Peter Betts about the Mlondozi Dam area, but haven't seen them there since around 1990!

When last did you see them in the central section, Peter?

My first sighting was Sept 07 on the H1-1 about 3km from Pretoriuskop.
