Super DP

So pleased the cubs are looking strong and well. In April when we were there they were kept well hidden by Mum!

Live for the springbok will never be quite the same with these guys around!

New Year update on the MZNP cheetah:

All are doing well. The eight cubs are now practically the same size as their mothers and it is difficult to tell which are the adults, except for the fact that the mothers have collars.

Juba, her cubs and the two adult male cheetah have been frequenting the northern area of the Park near Doornhoek. Nixi and her cubs frequent the southern area of the Park near Kranskop.

Hi All!
Any updates on the cheetahs and 'cubs' at MZNP?

Well, the cubs are all grown up now and have left their mothers and are hunting for themselves. The youngsters have formed two separate groups of 5 and 3 as one of Nixi's cubs moved over to join Juba's cubs at the end of last year. The rangers presume that this is probably a male cub who has moved over to join Juba's male cub and the two males will eventually break away to form a coalition.

Batman and Robin (the two adult males) were seen on the Link Road last week, looking fit and healthy.

A visitor reported seeing a lone cheetah, most likely one of the adult female, catch a springbok right behind the chalets at the end of last week. The two adult females are solitary at the moment.
