KTP will do an amazing job of hosting the cricket and I for one will definatly be there doing all I can to support them ....



SERIOUSLY ??? ... maybe I'm just an old CT fart and dont understand ( you know, being from CT I am obviously ancient and probably a bit slow what with all my petrified brain cells ) but I really do hope this was said tongue in cheek .... why on earth would anyone think we would do this - and WHY ??

KTP will be a stunning location - hard, flat pitch, lots of carry and minimal chance of having to use Duckworth/Lewis in the event of rain.

Eish...but it is getting heated (in a good way though).

I so hope that you all will just give KTP the chance to show what they can do. As mentioned it is about the game, doesn’t matter where it is played, may it be on green grass or on the red sand.

Logistics does sound if it may a huge problem but nothing Kalahari people can’t get done. Here in the park if we can’t fix a vehicle with Duck tape or wire then we send it in for a service

We have a meeting this afternoon to discuss what we can put on the table to make it so much more interesting for the kids and other participants, and I will let you know in the morning what we can do and will offer. I can understand why the local Kruger lover’s don’t want it to move from KNP but changes happen and everybody should be given the change to attend and to share in a few days of fun.

The weather that time of the year is very nice the heat has broken and the games could be arranged that the players who are use to the heat play later in the mornings.

The tournament 6 years ago started off to be KTP vs KNP and the forum also then put a team in which made it very nice and healthy competition and from there it became so much fun.

I will let you guys all know what we are looking at after this afternoons meeting.

Reading those posts does bring back some very good memories made. To actually see how it has grown to an exciting event where people from all walks of live get together and enjoy the fun.
Even if it is a few years down the line it still is very exciting and a event to look forward to.

I just have to post this picture of Dr. Gus Mills while we were still 'training' for the first event in Kruger. Those days we had a conveyer belt as a pitch, so we stepped up a notch and now have state of the art mats.



This is what the pitch and outfield might look like, believe me it might be red sand but the outfield is very fast. The greenery you see is cricket mats donated by S.A.Cricket and the pictures were taken for their anual report.

Wow The Red sand do look If we hold the cricket at KTP I will definately be there. There is no doubt in my mind that they WILL do an excellent job. Jannie you can count on us for any help you need in making this happen.

Here is a question, When the event is held at KNP people could easily get a flight to OR tambo and rent a car and drive the short 400kms or fly to KMIA and rent a car and you are basically there. What would the options be for some one who wanted to fly and rent a car to get to KTP?

Obviously cape town would be pointless because KTP is about 1000km's from Cape town.
