I saw on Vanessa's wishlist for the school that she would like some small mattresses for the children to take a nap on. I did some research this afternoon and got a very good offer from a shop in Cape Town - when they heard who it was for they told me I could have a HUGE discount !! Basically I can get the matresses for R37 each as appposed to the approximately R180 each I was quoted by other shops I phoned.

My 80 year old mother has said she will cover them for us in bright primary coloured materials. I am happy to further this and do the buying, covering, taking up to KTP etc but basically what we are looking for is R442 to cover the cost of 12 mattresses, which is the amount that Vanessa would like to start off with. Is there anyone out there who would like to sponsor the cost of a mattress ( or 2 ) ?? I have got all the necessary permission and have cleared it with both GP and the VHR's so if anyone would like to help, please would you contact either GP or myself via a PM and let us know and we will send you the link for the Give and Gain website for donations.....

There is a huge drive on at the DIRCO HQ for Tsamma Land! I am collecting the first of many bags / boxes tonight from one of the acting directors!

OK, DIRCO is the Department of International Relations and Co-operation, the old Foreign Affairs.

Will inform everyone what the contents of the bag / box is later!

Message from the Regional Tourist Manager.

I have been asked to thank all the mites who are so generously donating and assisting with this project "Tsamma Land" and their unselfish support, this project has now reached heights which nobody expected to reach so quickly and the need for expansion is clearly there which we will cater for as far as possible.

We are looking at expanding this project now to other parks in the Arid Region to provide for these parks kids a place where they can learn, obviously we just need to sort out logistics from our side but will keep you in the loop of things.
